TO LOG INTO THE SUBSCRIBER AREA:
Click on "Subscriber Login" located in the left-hand column.
On the next screen enter your password (your temporary or permanent Gilder
ID) in the Login box.
***Forgot your Gilder ID? Call our subscriber services at 800-292-4380
or 515-246-6952 to check your account information. The next screen is
the "Subscriber Homepage."
TO FIND THE CURRENT REPORT:
You will always find the current and several recent reports in the left-hand
column on the "Subscriber Homepage." To view and print these
reports, just click on "View PDF" if you have Adobe Acrobat
Reader installed on your computer or "View HTML" if you do not.
You can download a free version of Adobe Acrobat Reader to your computer
from our website. Acrobat Reader will allow you to print our report in
the same format as the hardcopy version.

TO ACCESS THE FREE SPECIAL REPORTS AND BACK ISSUES:
Click on "Archives" at the top right-hand side of the Subscriber
Homepage. You can view and print each report in either PDF or HTML format.
TO FIND OUT WHEN THE REPORTS COME ONLINE:
24 Hour Advanced Notification on the Website : We will post a notice on
the Subscriber Homepage 24 hours before the report comes out.
24 Hour Advanced Notification by E-mail: Click on "News and Updates"
at the top left-hand side of the Subscriber Homepage. Enter your e-mail
address in the field provided and hit "SAVE." You may register
to receive notification at more than one e-mail address. Just be sure
to hit "SAVE" after each address entered. You can also check
to see if your e-mail address is already registered. Please be aware that
some Internet Service Providers filter bulk e-mailings or for some other
reasons your notification may not reach you. If you experience problems
receiving our e-mail notification, consider adding additional addresses.
24 Hour Advanced Notification on our Phone Lines: You can call 800-292-4380
or 888-484-2727 to check if the report will be posted within the next
24 hours.
TO VISIT OUR ONLINE DISCUSSION FORUM (OR "CHAT ROOM"):
Click on "Telecosm Lounge" at the top of the Subscriber Homepage
and follow the detailed instructions given below to begin your visit.
FIRST VISIT TO THE TELECOSM LOUNGE
The Telecosm Lounge is one of our site's most beneficial features. It
is a forum where our subscribers have ongoing dialogue 24 hours a day,
7 days a week. Not only can you post questions and comments about technologies
and companies to our other subscribers, but you can often find George,
Richard and our analysts there as well.
TO START YOUR VISIT TO THE TELECOSM LOUNGE:
Click on "Telecosm Lounge" at the top of the Subscriber Homepage.
You may wish to print "First Visit to the Telecosm Lounge" for
easy directions on registering and using the features of the Lounge. You
must REGISTER on your first visit to the Lounge, but after that you only
will need to LOGIN.
TO REGISTER:
Create a Username: This is a nickname that you choose to identify yourself
on the Lounge. You can make this up or use your real name or initials.
***It should be unusual enough so that no one else will have it, but easy
enough that you will remember it.
Enter your Gilder ID: this is the same ID which you used to log into the
website.
Hit Register. You will go to a second registration page where you will
fill in this information again. Make sure to click on Save Settings and
REGISTER at the bottom of the page.
You will see a page that says "Welcome (your username)." You
are now in the Telecosm Lounge!
***To avoid typing in your username and password every time you visit
the Lounge: On the Welcome (your username) page, to the upper right, you
will see "My Settings." Click on this and in the LOGIN field,
click on "Save my username and password for next time." Scroll
down to the bottom of the page and hit "Save Settings."
TO NAVIGATE THE LOUNGE:
Locate the Forums to the left of your screen below Gilder Forums in the
grey area. We have a total of nine forums, including "Help"
and "Bugs."
The "Telecosm Lounge" is the most general chat room, where many
of our subscribers go first. You may also want to check out some of the
other forums for more specific information on a company or technology.
"Help" and "Bugs" are forums specifically designed
for you to post your quirky computer questions to the board to find out
if others are experiencing similar problems or can offer you assistance.
TO READ THE POSTS:
Once you are in a forum, you will see a whole list of message headings,
beginning with the most recent post. The heading in bold type is the original
post, and any replies to this post are listed underneath beginning with
"RE
" This is called a thread, which is a series of posts
on a particular topic. If you scroll to the bottom of the screen, you
will see the page 1 and "next" and "previous". You
can move to the next page of post titles and replies by clicking "next."
This is a useful way to rapidly look over the posts on the forum or "board."
There are several ways you can read the pages of messages in a forum.
TO READ POSTS INDIVIDUALLY:
Click on the post you wish to read and the full message will appear on
your screen. Click "next" at the top center of the message screen
and you will go to the next reply in the thread. Click "previous"
and you will go to the previous post of that thread.
TO LOAD AND READ MANY POSTS AT ONCE:
Click on the box "Message bodies" at the center top of your
screen (a check mark will appear), A full screen of complete texts of
all posts and replies will take a few seconds to load, but you can then
read many messages rapidly. To move to the next page of messages, at the
bottom of your screen, click on "next", which will take you
to the next page. Click on "previous" to go to the previous
page of messages.
